Baywatch or John Deere Yellow - Depends On Your Coast

We all know that plain white 110's are few and far between. Seems things get a little brighter the further west you go. We all thought the boys from Inverness had an eye-catcher. At least we thought so until now. Here's the latest intel from Hawaii. You think that's a stock Awlgrip color? Check the surfboards in the rafters. No wonder these guys like 110's.

Bit Of A Slow Start

The 2008 fleet series is under way, literally, as I write. The season started off kind of slow. Oakley and Ross had their game on, boats in the parking lot, Oakley and Anna doing some practice sailing. That's about it. A couple of days ago I gave Jeff some carbon iso-plate so he could finish repairs to his shroud tracks which tried to part from the boat, including deck, during Nationals last year. He sounds very proud of his craftsmanship so we'll so how it looks. Josh and I are the last of the bunch, really. From Josh getting some kind of flu to my playing Mr. Mom while the wife is away, Bermuda Race starting next Friday, we have all the excuses covered. In the end we have effectively taken two boats out of the running for the month of June and for that we are sorry. July will be off the hook!

Anyway, a few boats were enjoying a beautiful Newport sea breeze this afternoon while I drove over the bridge. I am going to head back over with the boy in a few to have a beer or two in the parking lot when they return. In the end, I suspect, they are having a great time on the bay in some really nice wind so there should be some smiling faces when I get there. Newport sure is a nice place to sail.
