2008 Atlantic Coast Champs



Atlantic Coast Champs 2008 is ON!!!

Hey guys. Cal and Tom Welsh have pulled together the ACCs at Niantic Bay YC on Oct 11 & 12. I won't be able to attend because I'll be grippin' and grinnin' at the Naptown Boat Show. I hope that Fleet 54 can represent like we did at nationals.

NOTICE OF RACE

Organizing Authority Fleet 12

Host Niantic Bay Yacht Club, 8 Shore Road, Niantic CT

Rules The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Race Rules of Sailing (RRS). Advertising will be restricted to Category A.

Eligibility, Entry & Fees The event is open to all owners or charterers of 110 class boats. Registration will be Saturday, October 11. Entry fee is $75.00 per boat which includes a donation to Niantic Bay YC for use of the hoist and facilities. For planning purposes, potential entrants are requested to notify one of the Points-of-Contact listed below in advance of the regatta of intent to race.

Schedule

Saturday, October 11: 0800-1100 Arrive; Launch; Practice Sail
0900-1100 Registration
1100 Skippers’ Meeting; Lunch
1200 First Warning
1530 No Race Started After
1800 Drinks and Hors d’oeuvres; Dinner at the home
of Pat and Tom Welsh

Sunday, October 12: 0830-0930 Continental Breakfast
1030 First Warning
1430 No Race Started After
Approx. 1530 Awards Presentation; Pizza, Beer and Wine

Venue and Courses The regatta will be sailed on Niantic Bay. Windward/Leeward and Triangular courses are planned.

Scoring The Low Point Scoring System of RRS Appendix A will be used.

Sailing Instructions Will be available at the Skippers’ Meeting

Radio Communications Will be carried out on VHF-FM Channel 72.

Prizes Suitable awards will be presented to skippers and crews of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place boats.
